Type Pattern

The goal of this project was to explore the basic features of Adobe Illustrator to create a pattern by repeated a single letter. I chose S because I liked the curves of it (and it’s my initial, which didn’t hurt). I produced several thumbnails before settling on the final design.

While I really liked the first batch of thumbnails, I realized that once they were repeated as part of a larger pattern, the details would become muddy and unclear. I decided to create something more graphic, which can be seen in the second set of thumbnails.

I saved the pattern as a fill in Adobe Illustrator in both the black & white and full color versions.
